OPERATION
All DTS3R-225 transfer switch models include suitable sensing circuitry for automatic transfer of an electric load to a standby generator set, in the event of a drop or loss of utility power. Upon restoration of normal utility power, the electric load is automatically re-transferred to the utility power source. A transfer motor operates a crank that in turn, operates an aluminum lever arm, by sliding a nylon guide between top and bottom parts of the assembly arm. This lever arm operates two switch handles by means of a unique spring and roller design. The travel position of the lever arm is detected by two micro-switches which disconnects the power to the transfer motor, when appropriate. The entire mechanism provides a positive mechanical interlock to prevent both molded case switches from being closed at the same time. model DTS3R-225 transfer switch is rated at 225 amps on both normal and emergency positions. It is designed for a single phase, 120/240 volts, 60 hertz, 2 pole operation.
